Linear Supplier Query System Version 1.21
The Supplier Query System was custom developed in response to a request from a client who is a Salesperson on the move. The main purpose of the system is to enable the client to quickly refer to a list of Supplier prices in order to be able to quote an appropriate selling price for a particular product to a customer.
When a product is purchased from a Supplier, the system is updated with the latest cost and price. The cost can refer to the original cost at which a Stock can be obtained from a Supplier. The price can be the original cost plus any additional charges applicable to the Stock. The system allows the user to quickly view or print a list of Stock items supplied by a particular Supplier or a list of Supplier who supply a particular Stock item. With this information in hand, the Salesperson is able to quote an appropriate selling price of a particular product to a customer.
The system was requested in order to enable the client to quickly respond to a customer's query about the selling price of a particular Stock item. A Salesperson who is on the move and visiting customers doing door-to-door sales can have all the necessary information via the system on a notebook to answer the customer's queries. The client believes that using the system, both the client and the customers will benefit by the quick response time to answer queries.
